Friends,
Aquaculture is under attack from a number of groups that are working to restrict future leases and to place restrictions on where and how shellfish and kelp can be farmed in Rhode Island. Legislators and resource managers need to hear not only from opponents, but also from advocates and supporters like you. We are asking you to sign on to the following statement:
We support aquaculture in Rhode Island because:
-
- It improves water quality and provides excellent fish habitat;
- It provides jobs and economic opportunities; and
- It is a great source of sustainable, local seafood.
Supporter company/organization names and cities will be listed on our website and in our newsletter, and shared with CRMC during lease application hearings. Your personal representative contact information will not be posted online or shared with any other company or organization, but rather allows us to contact you to see if you wish to remain listed next year.
